Britannia Bay to the west of Britannia Beach is still packed solid with ice despite it being mid-April.

Later in the spring the water levels will be higher and kayakers will be here. The long stretch of whitewater between Champlain Bridge and Chaudiere Falls is known as Remic Rapids.
