Vimy Bridge / Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge / Claudette Cain Park, Ottawa, Ontario - KAP 2013-24

The main objective of this session was to obtain low-level aerial photographs of the new bridge under construction designed to connect Earl Armstrong Road on the east side of the Rideau River with Strandherd Drive on the west side of the river. A number of delays have put the completion date significantly behind schedule including the initial contractor going into receivership. I thought it would be useful to document where its at as of the end of May 2013, and also to add some bridge construction aerial photos to my collection. There are also a few nice shots of the Rideau River and the adjacent parks and neighbourhood. Following constuction, the bridge has been named the Vimy Bridge.
These photographs were taken using a remote-controlled camera suspended below a kite line (Kite Aerial Photography - KAP).
