Airlie Beach, Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia - KAP 2013-7
February 28, 2013.
A recent four week trip to Australia provided several opportunities for kite aerial photography. Airlie Beach was the furthest north and is in the Whitsundays. It was from here where we took a day trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Mixed weather forced me to wait to the last morning to get a KAP session in the town of Airlie Beach itself (although there were earlier opportunities when the heat made me lazy). Storm clouds in the vicinity had me being cautious and one time while I had the kite down as a precaution it started to sprinkle rain and I had to squat under the kite with camera and rig in hand to keep them dry. I did get these interesting images when I felt it was safe enough to KAP. This was my 6th and last kite aerial photography session of this trip to Australia.
These photographs were taken using a remote-controlled camera suspended below a kite line (Kite Aerial Photography - KAP).
