Lemieux Island, Ottawa, Ontario - KAP 2011-4
May 7, 2011
This session was actually two KAP flights. The first was from right on Lemieux Island, where the close-ups of the Prince of Wales railroad bridge and the filtration plant are seen. The second half was done upstream on the shoreline near Remic Rapids at the Tunney's Pasture (Parkdale) exit of the Ottawa River Parkway. This second location provided the distant shots of Lemieux Island and the city of Ottawa in the background and the adjacent islands in the foreground.
I met Matt Young and Carl Bigras, two Kite Aerial Photography buddies and we all did KAP at the first location. We decided to meet considering it was World Wide KAP Week when KAPpers throughout the world are more or less simultaneously practicing their craft as part of a networking exercise.
These images were taken from a remote-controlled camera suspended below a kite line (Kite Aerial Photography).
