Hog's Back, Prince of Wales Falls, Ottawa, Ontario - KAP 2008-59
December 6, 2008
Bad day!
I went to Hog's Back Falls - Prince of Wales Falls really. They are along the Rideau River within the city of Ottawa area. The area is known as Hog's Back so most people use the wrong name - everyone seems to call them Hog's Back Falls. The sun was out when I departed from home, but it was gone by the time I got there. The wind was from the south which is not too common and I knew it was the perfect direction for doing these falls because of all the trees in the area, so I went ahead since I was there already. I set white balance to cloud and opened up the aperture wide. Despite my attempts for about 1 1/2 hours of aerial shooting, the camera had inadvertently gone off the remote connection after about 4 minutes. I have only a handful of not very good shots. By rotating and cropping I have salvaged these few but I miss what might have been. I'll surely return.
These photos were taken from a camera rig suspended below a kite (Kite Aerial Photography - KAP).
