Windscape Kite Festival 2016 - KAP 2016-9, KAP 2016-11, KAP 2016-12
June 25 & 26, 2016.
I was invited to participate as a celebrity flyer at the Windscape Kite Festival 2016 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. I had previously been invited in 2011. My role was to demonstrate kite aerial photography and to obtain aerial photographs of the event for future publicity.
It wasn't the best year as far as the weather was concerned. Both days were marked by the threat of thunderstorms. Saturday was overcast for the whole day, rained for much of the day and the winds overpowered most of the kite flyers or their gear. Sunday was the best day although overcast and a bit too windy at first but attendance at the event was much improved. I had a great time and hope to be invited again and cross our fingers for the weather. These images were taken during three long sessions, one on Saturday and two on Sunday.
