Playa El Palmar, Ixtapa, Mexico - KAP 2012-5
This kite aerial photography session took place at Playa El Palmer, Ixtapa, Mexico. Included are a number of aerial photographs of Marina Ixtapa.
Playa El Palmar is the nearest beach to Casa Candiles, the Bed and Breakfast where we stayed during our vacation. The B&B is about 10 minutes walk from the public access near the south end of the beach (beside the Barcelo Hotel). There are no small hotels or B&Bs on the beach as you will see from the photographs. The buildings are large hotels and condominium complexes.
These images were obtained using a camera suspended below a kite line (Kite Aerial Photography - KAP). The session was with autoKAP, whereby the camera was triggered every 8 to 10 seconds while making a stepwise slow 360 degree rotation. The wind was not strong enough to lift my fully remote-controlled rig.
This is the second of two KAP sessions on this beach. This session was along the north section of the beach. A few days earlier I explored the southern end of the beach with my aerial camera. The first session can be viewed in the KAP 2012-4 Gallery.
