Wyoming Roads - Near Newcastle, Wyoming

This session took place in the middle of nowhere, on Highway 450 about 50 miles west of Newcastle, Wyoming.

These images were taken from a camera suspended below a kite (Kite Aerial Photography - KAP).

The images in this gallery are for the moment, not for sale. robhuntley > Red Road in Wyoming. My car is in a lot of the shots. Anyone would think I was shooting a Hyundai Sonata commercial. Great on the long shots but up close the front bumper and side mirrors were covered in grasshopper paste. Dust was everywhere.

robhuntley > Red Road in Wyoming. Kite line is present in many of my late day shots as the wind was blowing from the east and light was great looking towards the east. This meant one of the KAPpers hazards was in effect - I spent the whole evening looking straight into the sun to watch the kite and the camera rig.

robhuntley > More red road in Wyoming. I have many more shots. It was such a great subject I had a hard time leaving.

I found out later, 3 miles down the road, there was a another fantastic KAP spot where the red road was winding very photogenically and there were narrow winding canyonlike arroyos crossing the road in several places. I passed up this opportunity not knowing yet where my next hotel was going to be. I hate night driving. I wished I'd stayed to KAP it - there was enough light left in the day. Oh well!
